The government has granted Ghanaian winger Osman Bukari Serbian citizenship, which will have implications for his football career.
This decision means that upon his return from pre-season training in Russia, Bukari will be in possession of a Serbian passport. It is essential to clarify that Bukari’s acquisition of Serbian citizenship does not indicate a change in his national team allegiance.
He will continue to represent Ghana at the international level. However, obtaining Serbian citizenship will bring certain advantages for his club career.
With Osman Bukari obtaining Serbian citizenship at his current club, Red Star Belgrade, he will no longer be considered a foreign player. This advantageous status allows him to bypass the restrictions on the number of foreign players in the squad.
