Black Stars head coach Otto Addo remains optimistic about Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), despite the team’s disappointing performance in recent matches against Sudan.
Ghana managed only one point from four during the October international break, which puts their qualification hopes in jeopardy. The Black Stars drew 0-0 at home in the first match and then lost 2-0 in Libya, leaving them third in their qualifying group behind Angola and Sudan.

In light of these results, Addo stated, “It’s not over yet. Mathematically, there is still a chance, and we will do everything which is in our hands to hold this chance alive.” For Ghana to qualify, they must win their next two matches in the AFCON qualifying series in November, while also relying on Sudan to lose their remaining games.
The upcoming matches are crucial for the Black Stars as they aim to secure their place in Morocco, and Addo’s determination reflects the team’s resolve to turn their fortunes around.
