On the Anloga-Junction section of the Kumasi Airport road on Saturday afternoon, a police dispatch rider collided with a salon car and was taken to the hospital.

The incident happened when the dispatch rider tried to use the opposite lane to avoid traffic while escorting a VIP vehicle.

The police dispatch rider was knocked down in the middle of the road when the motorcade struck the car with registration number AS-1142-16 head-on, even though they had signaled for the oncoming car to slow down.

The police officer was hurt, according to witnesses, but the people inside the salon car were unharmed.

The dispatch rider on the Aboabo-Airport road resorted to using the opposite lane to manage traffic, according to an eyewitness who went by the name Bismarck.
