Shalimar Abbiusi, a political movement spokesman for New Force, was re-arrested following the withdrawal of the complaint against her for using a fraudulent declaration to get a student pass.
The Belgian national was charged last week with fabricating paperwork to prove that he was a student at Ghana Christian University College in order to get a residency permit.
She was given GHc 20,000 in bond, and the matter was scheduled to proceed to a full trial on Tuesday.
However, immigration service prosecutors under the direction of ACI Adolf Aboagye Asenso disclosed in court that they have been given the go-ahead to drop the case.
As a result, the accused was released from custody and the case was withdrawn.

However, the accused was picked up by an immigration van shortly after leaving the courtroom. Despite the decision to abandon the case, she was detained again, according to individuals close to the prosecution who spoke with Citi News.
Francis Xavier Sosu, one of her attorneys, charged that the immigration office was planning to deport the defendant.
“We have filed an action in the Human Rights court against them. For all other processes, they may want to take for purposes of either trying to remove her from the country or not. I am hoping that by the close of the day or by afternoon they will all be served with those actions and they will appear in court to come and answer for what they are doing.
Because we knew that there is a likelihood that they will be behaving in the manner they are behaving. And this is so arbitrary and this should not be tolerated in any democracy,” he said.
