President Akufo-Addo Dismisses Daniel Noble Awuley as Hohoe MCE

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has relieved Daniel Noble Awuley of his duties as the Municipal Chief Executive of the Hohoe Municipal Assembly.

The termination was conveyed through a correspondence dated Monday, March 25, 2024. The document, endorsed by O.B Amoah, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development, cited constitutional and legislative provisions as the grounds for this decision.

As per the letter, the action is based on Article 243 (3) (b) of the Constitution and Section 20 (3) (b) of the Local Governance Act 2016 (Act 936).

Additionally, the letter directed, “Therefore, you are required to transfer your duties to the Honorable Regional Minister, who will assume oversight responsibility of the Municipal Assembly until a new Municipal Chief Executive is confirmed.

“Furthermore, the Honorable Regional Minister is instructed to oversee the Municipal Assembly until the confirmation of a new Municipal Chief Executive.”

In parallel, President Akufo-Addo has appointed Francis Fiakpui as the successor to the vacant position.
