Cody Gakpo’s share price soared at the World Cup, where he scored three goals in five games, but unfortunately his side (Netherlands) lost to eventual champions Argentina at the quarter finals.
Manchester United showed interest in Gakpo the summer before looking to sign Anthony from Ajax, but failed to do so.
PSV Eindhoven have confirmed they had agreed a deal with Liverpool for Cody Gakpo before the January transfer window opened.
Before PSV issued a statement, it was understood that Liverpool were in pre-transfer talks with PSV, as Liverpool wanted to sign another attacking player after long-term injuries to Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.
The 23-year-old attacker(Cody Gakpo) is set to leave for Merseyside “soon” and the Dutch side is set to obtain record charges for them.

PSV has not commented on the fee, but it is understood that Liverpool will pay £37m initially, with potential additional fees rising to £50m.
