Wizkid, a Nigerian artist, apologized for abandoning his scheduled performance at a concert in Ghana.
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, was slated to perform at Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
However, he failed to appear, infuriating many of his Ghanaian admirers, including those who had rushed to the venue and waited for hours to see him play.
The organisers of the performance, Live Hub, accused the Afrobeats musician of “breaching his contractual responsibility.”
On Sunday night, though, the singer apologized to “everyone who made the effort to come out for me [on Saturday night].” “I was pumped and looking forward to doing this show.”
“Unfortunately, up until the day of this show, there continued to be safety and production issues that prevented me from putting on a high-quality show that my fans deserve,” he posted on Twitter.
He said he and his team were working on “delivering a show to my amazing fans in Ghana”.
