The National Communication Officer of the main Opposition Party, NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has been charged GHc 500,000 for damage for a defamation case with Energy Minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh.
The high court, Accra, General jurisdiction 12, which was presided over by Justice Charles Gyamfi Danquah, delivered the judgment on Thursday, 13th October 2022.
The court found that Sammy defamed Dr. Opoku Prempeh who is also the Mp and lawmaker for the Manhyia South Constituency when Sammy at a press conference in June 2019, alleged that Seidu Yakutia MBA suspected in the kidnapping of two Canadian girls the year 2019 the errand boy of Mathew Opoku Prempeh.
After charging Sammy Gyamfi, the court also ordered him to publish a retraction and an apology.
