Ghanaian music sensation, Shatta Wale, has been summoned to appear before the juvenile court by his ex-girlfriend, Shatta Michy (Michelle Gbagonah).
The court appearance is in response to a custody and maintenance request filed by Shatta Michy for their eight-year-old child.
Shatta Michy alleges that Shatta Wale has neglected financial responsibilities for their child, including medical bills, unless specifically reminded and prompted to do so. The court notice, posted on December 21, 2023, directs Shatta Wale to appear in juvenile court to address the custody and maintenance issues raised by Shatta Michy.

In response to the court notice, Shatta Wale has been instructed to post the notice of hearing on his Instagram handle, @Shatawalenima.
The court has mandated that the hearing notice be placed in the Family and Juvenile Court located in the former Commercial Court building on High Street in Accra. Additionally, the court notice is to be sent to Shatta Wale’s last known address in East Legon near Accra’s Islamic University.
The court proceeding will determine matters related to custody and monthly maintenance payments for their child. Shatta Wale has been warned that if he fails to appear, the court will proceed with the case in his absence.
