Ghanaian dancehall sensation Stonebwoy has clarified the reasons behind his absence from the AfroNation event scheduled in Detroit, USA on Sunday, August 20, 2023.
Taking to Twitter, the BET Award winner explained that his absence was due to an unexpected change in his set time for the event. He expressed that this change posed challenges that affected his ability to deliver the performance he desired, and emphasized that giving his best on stage is a top priority.
Stonebwoy extended his gratitude to his dedicated fans who turned up to support him, acknowledging their unwavering love and commitment. He offered his apologies for the disappointment caused by his absence and assured fans that he is determined to make it up to them.
The artist further revealed his commitment to finding an alternative way to connect with his fans and provide the performance they were eagerly anticipating. He expressed deep appreciation for their understanding, loyalty, and ongoing support.
Stonebwoy’s tweet outlined his plans for the rest of his North American tour, particularly his upcoming headline show in Toronto, Canada. He signed off with a message of love and gratitude for his fans.
It’s worth noting that earlier reports circulating on social media suggested that Stonebwoy’s absence might have been influenced by a silent rivalry between Ghanaian and Nigerian artists, which was allegedly orchestrated by Nigerian gatekeepers. However, Stonebwoy’s clarification statement focused solely on the change in his set time as the cause of his absence.
