Taxi Driver Arrested for Allegedly Hitting Police Officer on Duty in Agona Swedru

A 27-year-old taxi driver named Kofi Donkor has been apprehended by the police for allegedly hitting Constable Ernest Opare, a police officer on duty in Agona Swedru, Central Region.

The incident occurred near the Agona Swedru Chief Palace crossroads, where Constable Opare was managing traffic on the busy dual carriageway.

Authorities reported that the driver of a vehicle with the registration number GW 6086-22 was observed driving on the road’s shoulders. The impatient and purportedly speeding driver reportedly struck the police officer.

Constable Ernest Opare sustained severe injuries to his back and hands and was promptly transported to the Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital for medical attention. He is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
