Sharaf Mahama, the son of former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, drew thousands to the streets of Tamale for a Health Screening and Walk event on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
The event, part of his ‘Healthy Hearts, Empowered Youth’ campaign, saw participation from his brother Shafik Mahama, National and Regional Executives of the NDC, Members of Parliament (MPs), Parliamentary Candidates (PCs), friends, and party supporters.

The walk started and ended at the Jubilee Park, passing through the main streets of Tamale. Participants, dressed in NDC and Sharaf Mahama Foundation attire, sang and danced throughout the event. At Jubilee Park, the Sharaf Mahama Foundation provided free medical screenings, including checks for weight, height, BMI, blood pressure, pulse characterization, oximetry, precordium examination, fasting blood glucose, random blood sugar, hepatitis B and C, prostate cancer, and malaria tests.

A total of 6,483 people were screened, including 2,633 males and 3,850 females. Additionally, 122 health insurance registrations and renewals were completed, with over 300 pending.
The day before, on Friday, June 28, 2024, the Foundation also conducted free health screenings in Damango for 1,356 people as part of the ‘Savannah Soccer Tournament.’ Mole Nationals FC emerged as the winners among participating teams, which included Larbanga Pro Stars, Blue City FC, and Canteen FC. All teams received monetary prizes, trophies, jerseys, and footballs.

Haruna Iddrisu, the Special Guest of Honor, addressed supporters at Jubilee Park, urging them to work in unity to secure at least 14 parliamentary seats and victory for John Dramani Mahama in the December 7, 2024, elections.

Sharaf Mahama expressed gratitude to the party, supporters, and everyone involved in the event, emphasizing the importance of unity and continuous effort for victory in 2024.
