The Tsadidi Street Art Festival is back for its third edition, promising an immersive celebration of art, culture, and tourism in Ghana’s Volta Region. From Friday, November 1st to Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, this year’s festival—aptly named “Tsadidi” after the Ewe word for “tourism”—will once again transform Keta’s Fort Prinzenstein into a vibrant space of creativity and connection.
This year’s event also coincides with the Hogbetsotso Festival, adding a rich historical and cultural layer to the experience.
Founded by Ghanaian visual storyteller GlennSamm, TsadidiFest24 aims to shine a spotlight on the diverse heritage of the Volta Region, inviting visitors to engage with the theme “Cultural Experiment.” Through visual arts, performance, and community events, the festival offers a unique look at the intersection of tradition and modernity in Ghana.
In an exciting collaboration, Tsadidi Global has teamed up with Suvinil Paints, who will be a major sponsor of this year’s event, providing vibrant color for art installations and interactive displays that are set to decorate the town of Keta. Other partners and sponsors include UNICHEM, with media coverage provided by CITI FM, Channel ONE TV, JUBILEE RADIO, and SANDCITY RADIO.
Festival Highlights: Three Days of Art and Culture
Friday, November 1st: Educational Engagement
TsadidiFest24 will kick off with an educational talk designed for visual arts students from Keta and nearby Anloga, emphasizing the importance of art in cultural preservation and innovation. Following this, attendees will be invited to join a storytelling session and bonfire night, offering an intimate setting to explore the folklore and histories of the Volta Region.
Saturday, November 2nd: Art Procession and Cultural Performances
On Saturday, the festival will bring color and excitement to the streets of Keta with an Art Procession through the township. Participants are encouraged to dress in traditional attire as they join a parade of artists and performers, culminating in a stunning display of street art, installations, and graffiti throughout the town. The procession will feature cultural performances that reflect the diversity and energy of local communities.
Sunday, November 3rd: Beach Barbecue and Music
TsadidiFest24 will conclude with a festive Beach Barbecue, where attendees can enjoy regional cuisine, music, and a final celebration of the weekend’s festivities. This closing event promises an atmosphere of relaxation and camaraderie, bringing together locals, artists, and visitors alike.
With TsadidiFest24, Tsadidi Global is fostering a space where art, history, and community merge, creating an inviting atmosphere for cultural exchange and exploration. Organizing partners, MiPrime Entertainment, aim to highlight the significance of the arts in the Volta Region, sparking inspiration in both local attendees and international visitors.
