Preliminary reports suggest that Zakiu may have been attacked and robbed, as his motorcycle and phone were missing from the scene. It is believed that Zakiu had gone out earlier to watch a football match with a friend but never returned. His sudden death has shocked the campus, leaving students and staff in deep sorrow.

The university’s leadership, including the Vice Dean, Dean of Students, and the Head of Security, held an emergency meeting and later visited the regional police office to assist with the investigation. Authorities are working to gather more information to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Zakiu’s final funeral rites are scheduled for today, September 30, 2024, at Gumani near Oasis Restaurant, as the university continues to grieve the loss of one of its promising students. The campus remains in a state of mourning as everyone awaits further updates on the case.
