Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has publicly expressed her deep gratitude to Ibrahim Mahama, brother of President John Dramani Mahama, for his exceptional support and compassion during her recent illness.
Speaking in Accra on Thursday, May 22, the Vice President acknowledged the divine grace and medical care that aided her recovery and made special mention of Ibrahim Mahama’s personal involvement throughout her healing process.
“I want to say thanks to God; His mercies have been infinite as always, and I am very grateful,” she began, also commending the medical staff for their dedication and timely interventions.
She then turned her attention to Ibrahim Mahama, describing him as a pillar of strength and an unexpected source of emotional comfort.
“But I also need to isolate beyond family and friends, your brother, Mr. Ibrahim. He stopped at nothing to ensure that I had what I needed, and then he also came to the hospital.
He came to sit by me and that was healing enough.”
The Vice President’s heartfelt remarks highlight the behind-the-scenes support system that played a crucial role in her return to health, and underscore the Mahama family’s close-knit bond during challenging times.
