Cristiano Ronaldo’s four-year record has been broken by Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who is now Serie A’s jump king.
The Nigerian won convincingly, 3-0, away to Spezia, leaping 2.58 meters.
At the Stadio Alberto Picco, Osimhen accomplished the amazing feat of scoring both Napoli’s second goal of the day and his first goal of the game.
After a scoreless first half, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored from the penalty spot to start the scoring, and Osimhen added a second goal in the 68th minute.
The 24-year-old made a mind-blowing 71 cm leap, rising to a height of 8.47 ft (2.58 m) — higher than the crossbar (8 ft) — before beating Spezia goalie Bartomej Drgowski.
And with that jump, Osimhen reportedly rose to a height of 2.58 meters, according to Corriere dello Sport.
He has now broken the previous Italian Serie A record of 2.56 meters set by Cristiano Ronaldo for Juventus against Sampdoria in 2019.
