A circulating video on social media captures Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia addressing the recurring power outages, commonly referred to as “dumsor,” which have been plaguing Ghanaians.
As he exited Parliament, a concerned citizen exclaimed, “dumsor no,” drawing the Vice President’s attention. Dr. Bawumia responded with, “yoo, ye be ye,” which translates to “okay, we will fix it.”

These power cuts have persisted for over a month, prompting demands for the Ministry of Energy to provide an official timetable to inform consumers about power availability. However, Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Premeph has dismissed such calls, indicating no imminent release of a timetable.
Herbert Krapa, Chairman of the governing board of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Deputy Energy Minister, has reassured the public that the government is taking action to address the issue. He affirmed the government’s awareness of the challenges faced by citizens and its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
