She secured a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 victory on her third championship point, marking her first Wimbledon title.

This win is especially poignant as it comes 26 years after Jana Novotna’s only Grand Slam victory at Wimbledon. Novotna, who passed away in 2017, had mentored Krejcikova during her teenage years.

With this victory, Krejcikova will jump 22 places in the rankings, moving from 32nd to 10th. She now holds the Venus Rosewater Dish trophy as the 2024 Wimbledon women’s singles champion.

Jasmine Paolini, who has Ghanaian heritage, had an incredible run to the final, having never won a match at Wimbledon before this tournament. She will reach a career-high ranking of fifth in the world, up from seventh, when the new rankings are released on Monday.
