Ghanaian actor John Peasah, widely recognized for his role as Drogba in the popular television series ‘YOLO,’ recently shared an update on his ongoing health struggles. Peasah, who has been battling a demyelinating condition for over two years, revealed that his situation has worsened.
In a video posted on Instagram, Peasah is seen wearing an oxygen mask, explaining that he has developed sleep apnea, which has led doctors to increase his oxygen intake to assist with his breathing. This new challenge adds to the complexities of his ongoing health battle.
Demyelinating diseases damage the protective covering of nerve fibers in the brain, optic nerves, and spinal cord, disrupting the normal flow of signals along the nerves and causing a range of neurological issues. Peasah’s condition has led to severe health complications that require expensive treatment.
His recent update has garnered significant attention, with many celebrities and fans expressing their concern and offering support. Peasah has also made a public appeal for financial assistance to help cover the high costs of his medical care.
In a heartfelt message, Peasah reminded Ghana’s Vice President of a promise made regarding his treatment. He wrote, “I want to use this opportunity to thank the Vice President of the land, @mbawumia, for honoring my visit to his office and also for visiting my house and for the support. I may appear better, but inside, I’m in excruciating pain… This agony is inexplicable. Please remind him not to forget his pledge regarding my treatment abroad. Thank you.”
The post has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with users offering a range of responses to his plea.
