Akatsi South NDC Suspends Campaign Activities Following Death of Organizer Sullemana Seidu

Sullemana Seidu reportedly passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Abor Sacred Heart Hospital following a short illness.

His sudden death sent immediate shockwaves throughout the Akatsi South Constituency, where he was widely known and respected.

Prior to his tenure as the NDC Constituency Organizer, Seidu served the local government and public administration in various capacities.

He was a former Assemblymember for the Wute Electoral Area and also worked as the Administrator for the Akatsi South Municipal Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).

In an official statement released by the Akatsi South Constituency Secretariat, signed by Francis Dotsey Bedzo, the party described his passing as a profound loss, portraying him as a "loyal soldier, hardworking organizer and committed party man" who dedicated years of his life to party building.

The executives noted that Seidu stood by the party through "thick and thin," showing unwavering sacrifice and perseverance in every task assigned to him.

He was widely regarded as a unifier and a selfless servant who consistently put the interest of the party above personal gain, often using his personal vehicle, time, and resources to support grassroots mobilization across branches and polling stations.

In honor of his memory and service, the Akatsi South NDC Secretariat—in direct consultation with constituency leadership, including Member of Parliament Bernard Ahiafor and the Municipal Chief Executive—directed the immediate suspension of all campaign activities.

This directive halts all branch meetings, aspirant campaign gatherings, and political events across the constituency to allow party members and constituents time to mourn.
