In an official statement released to address his departure, Queiroz emphasized that the agreement was reached amicably.
"Following discussions held in a spirit of mutual respect, the Ghana Football Association and I have mutually agreed to terminate the Service Agreement governing my role as Head Coach of the Ghana National Team, the Black Stars,"he stated.
Reflecting on the challenging circumstances surrounding his tenure, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United assistant coach conceded that the environment required for sustained success had not materialized."
This was not an easy decision, but both parties agreed that, under the present circumstances, ending our professional relationship was the most appropriate course of action, with the interests of Ghana, the Black Stars and Ghanaian football above everything else," Queiroz explained, adding that "despite our commitment and efforts, the necessary conditions were not fully established, and our recent performance added to the decision to bring this journey to an end".
Despite the premature end to his leadership, Queiroz expressed gratitude toward the GFA leadership, his technical team, and particularly the players who represented the nation on the pitch. Throughout his tenure, which included preparations aimed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he maintained high regard for the squad's commitment. Addressing the Ghanaian football community directly, Queiroz issued a passionate appeal to supporters to rally behind the current generation of players."I pay tribute to the players of the Black Stars.
Thank you to all of them who represented Ghana with courage, commitment and pride. You fought for your country and carried the hopes of millions,"he wrote, urging fans to "believe in these players. Protect them,Support them. The talent and potential are there. With unity, support and the right environment, this generation can achieve great things for Ghana".
Concluding his message with deep affection for the country, Queiroz signed off with the rallying cry: "Ghana comes first. The Black Stars come first. Ghanaian football comes first.Thank you, Ghana. To the Future".
As it stands, the GFA has not yet named a successor, leaving the national team technical seat vacant as the federation initiates a search for new management.
The departure of Carlos Queiroz highlights the intense expectations surrounding the Ghana Black Stars and the urgent need for tactical stability ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
While the defeat to Gambia served as the final catalyst for this mutual termination, Queiroz's farewell message highlights the latent potential within the squad if given the proper environment and unified support.
As the GFA begins its search for a new head coach, Ghanaian fans must remain patient and back the national team through this transitional phase.
