The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee officially handed down a fine of GHS 5,000 to Asante Kotoko after the club failed to publish video highlights following their Ghana Premier League clash against Debibi United.
According to the committee's findings, the Kumasi-based club breached official league regulations by failing to upload a required three-to-five-minute match highlights package within 48 hours after the final whistle.
As part of the ruling, the Porcupine Warriors have been instructed to settle the GHS 5,000 fine within 14 days of receiving formal notification of the decision.
In addition to the monetary penalty, the GFA Disciplinary Committee issued a stern warning to Asante Kotoko, cautioning that any repeated misconduct or future breaches of media guidelines could trigger significantly harsher sanctions.
This ruling reflects a broader effort by the GFA to strictly enforce league operational rules across all participating clubs.
Standardizing media duties—specifically requiring timely 3-to-5-minute highlights—is intended to elevate overall match coverage, boost fan engagement, and ensure all teams satisfy their broadcast obligations throughout the season.
Despite the off-pitch penalty, Asante Kotoko must quickly refocus their attention on their upcoming Ghana Premier League responsibilities.
The team will be looking to get back to winning ways as they prepare to host Young Apostles at the Accra Sports Stadium in a Matchday Seven encounter.
That match is scheduled for a 15:00 GMT kick-off, where fans will be watching closely to see how the squad responds on the pitch.
The GFA’s GHS 5,000 sanction against Asante Kotoko underscores the growing importance of operational discipline and media compliance in modern Ghanaian football.

As the league continues to enforce its media rights framework, clubs are expected to maintain strict adherence to match highlight deadlines alongside their athletic commitments.
Kotoko now face a key test both on and off the field as they aim to bounce back in their upcoming clash against Young Apostles.
