Ahafo Ano South West MP Elvis Dapaah Survives Serious Car Crash During Constituency Trip

Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South West, Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah, survived a major road accident on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

The serious crash occurred while Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah and his delegation were en route to carry out essential constituency business—specifically working to secure educational placements for students across the Ahafo Ano South West district.

During the journey, their vehicle, a dark-coloured SUV, suffered heavy damage and overturned into a muddy roadside ditch.

Smartphone footage recorded by bystanders at the scene showed the overturned vehicle surrounded by concerned onlookers in chaotic, muddy conditions.

Despite the severe damage to the vehicle, all occupants miraculously survived without life-threatening injuries.

Taking to his official TikTok page to update constituents directly, Dapaah uploaded the footage along with a message confirming that everyone in his entourage was safe, in stable condition, and undergoing required medical checks. Reassuring the public, the MP wrote:

Earlier today, while travelling on constituency business to secure educational placements for students across Ahafo Ano South West, my team and I were involved in a road traffic accident.

He added:

I am deeply thankful to report that everyone involved is safe, in stable condition, and receiving the necessary medical evaluation.

Dapaah also expressed his gratitude to emergency responders, healthcare staff, and well-wishers who reached out following the news.

The accident adds to recent concerns regarding political travel safety in Ghana, following another crash involving NPP National Treasurer aspirant Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah on the Kwahu Road while returning from campaign activities in Afram Plains.
