Ghana’s national team captain, Andre Ayew, made a strong return to club football on Sunday, showcasing his prowess by scoring two crucial goals for Le Havre in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Lorient in the French Ligue 1.

Ayew’s comeback comes after Ghana’s disappointing performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where they were eliminated in the group stage.

Entering the game as a substitute in the 70th minute with his team trailing 2-1, Ayew made an immediate impact. In the 85th minute, he leveled the score for Le Havre with a well-executed header from a free kick.

Despite Ayew’s efforts, Lorient took the lead again in the 91st minute with a goal from Mohamed Bamba. However, Ayew wasn’t done yet. In the fourth minute of added time, he scored a remarkable goal from an overhead kick, securing a 3-3 draw for his team.
