In a recent national address, President Nana Akufo-Addo provided assurance to Ghanaians, stating that the prolonged power crisis, locally known as “Dumsor,” has been effectively resolved, with no plans for its return.

The President’s announcement brings relief to many citizens who have endured years of sporadic power outages, which have significantly disrupted daily life and economic activities.

Speaking at this year’s national May Day celebrations in Accra, President Akufo-Addo attributed the resolution of the power crisis to the government’s strategic interventions and investments in the energy sector. These efforts have substantially increased the country’s electricity generation capacity, ensuring a more consistent power supply to homes and businesses.

Additionally, the President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing sustainable solutions to address underlying challenges in the energy sector. He outlined initiatives aimed at diversifying the country’s energy sources, promoting renewable energy, and enhancing energy efficiency and conservation practices. These measures are expected to not only enhance the reliability of the power supply but also contribute to environmental sustainability and the nation’s overall development objectives.

President Akufo-Addo expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their patience and understanding during recent temporary challenges with electricity supply. He highlighted successful resolutions of issues related to transformer maintenance and gas supply, resulting in increased reliability of electricity supply.

The President noted a recent stable supply of electricity across the country, with no reported incidents of load-shedding. He expressed confidence that the era of “Dumsor” would not return, citing seven years of tireless efforts to maintain a consistent electricity supply.

However, President Akufo-Addo acknowledged concerns raised by some stakeholders about intermittent power outages in parts of the country. He assured the public of his government’s determination to promptly and decisively address any emerging challenges in the energy sector.

In conclusion, the resolution of the power crisis is expected to have positive implications for various sectors of the economy, including manufacturing, agriculture, and services. A stable and reliable electricity supply is essential for driving economic growth, attracting investment, and improving living standards.
